Site Tour: Cockatoo Island Heritage
Come along for a historic engineering tour of Sydney Harbour's biggest island. Formerly an imperial prison, then later a shipyard with the one-time largest dry dock in world, Cockatoos Island was home to one of Australia's most significant maritime workshops in the twentieth century. Take the opportunity to explore this island's rich engineering history with a professional tour guide.

How: Sydney Ferries. Ferry will depart from Circular Quay wharf 5 at 9:38 arriving at Cockatoo Island at 10:00am. This is the only ferry operating that will accommodate the time of the tour. Return ferry from Cockatoo Island to Circular Quay 12.53pm, 1.53pm, 2.53pm, 3.54pm.

Site Tour: Port Botany Expansion
You are invited to take the opportunity to view Sydney Ports Corporation's major expansion of its container port facilities at Port Botany to cater for long term trade growth. The expansion is one of the largest port projects to be undertaken in Australia in the last 30 years.
Come along and see the 60 hectares of reclaimed land and 1,850m of additional wharf face for five extra shipping berths, as well as the deep water berths and the dredging work of approximately 7.8 million cubic meters of fill materials to create shipping channels and berth boxes.

Site Tour: Sydney Desalination Plant
In mid 2007, the NSW Government awarded a Design, Build, Operate and Maintain Contract for a world class Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant on the Kurnell Peninsula, on the outskirts of Sydney, to a joint venture of John Holland and Veolia Water.
The Sydney Desalination Plant is a drinking water supply project operated by Sydney Water, Sydney's State-owned water supply corporation. The Kurnell plant is the third major desalination plant built in Australia.
January 2010 marks the days in which water from the Desalination Plant was pumped into the Sydney Water system for the first time.
Come along and experience the engineering behind water desalination.
