Analysis of Moving Loads by Appling the Vector Form Intrinsic Finite Element Method
The main object of this research is to apply the Vector Form Intrinsic Finite Element (VFIFE, V-5) techniques in nonlinear large deformation dynamic analysis for the responses of moving loads on rigid frame structures. In this research, the simulation of moving mass is brought into the vector form intrinsic finite element method, the basic concept is in applying the frame element of VFIFE together with moving loads, both are interactive in matrix manipulation to simulate their mutual interactions. Besides, the simulation of moving mass can be separated into concentrated and distributed load of moving mass. It can effectively simulate the motions of a single car or a string of cars of a whole train. Comparing the results of the numerical simulations by VFIFE with the results obtained from other literatures, they are very close. It proved that VFIFE not only can effectively simulate the nonlinear large deformation dynamic problem, but also the entire system matrix and solutions by iterations are not necessary.
