Fukura harbor is located on the southwest edge of Awaji Island, and the tsunami hazard by the Nankai earthquake is concerned. ‘The advisory committee for measures against tsunami in Fukura harbor’ was held aiming to promote the measures against tsunami in Fukura harbor efficiently and effectively. And the committee made summary of the proposal to overall the measures against tsunami in Fukura harbor. Currently, measures execute according to the proposal. The purpose of this is to introduce a methodology in the proposal.
-Estimated tsunami damage: Estimated tsunami damage by two external forces that are Showa Nankai earthquake (M8.0) and Ansei Nankai earthquake (M8.4).
-Tsunami disaster prevention station: The standard for construction tsunami disaster prevention station is not provided. Therefore, functions necessary for designing, operation and maintenance tsunami disaster prevention station were examined.
-Coastal forest: A lot of research cases exist about installation condition and the effect, etc. However, the case that these research results are reflected in the field site is few. By arranging research case, design the policy development of coastal forest in Fukura area.
