Methodology to present whole picture of sustainable infrastructures in a region

  • Mr Juntaro Mizutani, Japan

Many designs have been presented until now of the natural energy development, configuration of the eco-system preserve, expansion of food production e.t.c., concerning of their contribution to advance sustainability. Such proposals include “reduction of CO2 emission with the photovoltaic power generation” and so on.
These proposals wouldn’t come true pre-established harmoniously, and they tend to collide mutually. What items of them should be implemented is another problem to be tackled.
This is not the matter of usual analytical method of each proposal. Synthesizing whole infrastructures in a region is demanded to answer the above-mentioned problems.
No methodology is presently proposed to synthesize whole basic infrastructures. A method for this purpose is proposed herein, along the lines of the buildings construction planning. That is, starting with presentation of the original conceptual plan, remediation is repeatedly made following checks by various quarters. Thus, results of synthesis are evolved and justified.
The original plan was presented for the 2003 conference of Society for Environmental Economics and Policy Studies, and consists of the food matter, the habitation matter, the energy matter, the bay water quality conservation matter, the nature conservation matter and the nutrients circulation matter.
Most current remediated plan has been submitted to the 18th Symposium of Global Environment, JSCE, which will be held in August 2010, and includes these matters mentioned above with some modifications plus the transportation matter, the materials matter and so forth.
Rough sketch of the obtained results is drawn up as Figure of the Basic Infrastructures (2010/8).
