Building roads and bridges sometimes causes interruption between ecological systems. In order to avoid the situation, many overfilled bridges are built in countryside and even in urban area. Superstructure of bridge normally consisted of girders and deck supports the overfilled soil. That is, total height of 30m long bridge system may reache 5m because of higher than 2m of overfilled soil over the bridge deck, and consequently spoiling the street view. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the hybrid girder for overfilled rahmen bridge with extra low overfill height. The hybrid girder with different strength of steel in flanges and web has a wide concrete flange in the lower part which is connected to the concrete flange of an adjacent girder to carry soil over concrete flanges. This girder enables the total height of the bridge system shorter by eliminating the bridge deck. In order to evaluate stability of the girder during fabrication, geometric nonlinear analysis was conducted and static test was followed to find the ultimate strength.
