Development of Post-Tensioning Anchorage for 2160MPa PS strand using 50MPa High Strength Concrete
Post-tensioning anchorage system is consisted of wedge, anchor block, anchorage. Anchorage systems are developed considering the tendon force and the strength of PS strand. As POSCO and KISWIRE recently developed 2160MPa PS strand 300MPa up from the conventional PS strand, new anchorage systems for high strength PS strand are required. Using high strength strand make an opportunity to reduce duct size and resulting in reduction in section of PSC structure.
However, anchored section at the end of the PSC structure is a different issue because larger amount of tendon force needs larger anchoring area. The objective of this study is to develop a new compact anchorage using high strength concrete. In order to analyze the performance of anchorage and the effect of design variables, such as geometry of rib and bearing plate, a specimen in compliance with European Technical Approval Guideline for post-tensioning system (ETAG013) was designed. FE analysis was conducted in order to find the optimized feature of anchorage and experiment was performed for verification of the anchorge proposed. The test procedure was also in compliance with European Technical Approval Guideline for Post-tensioning system (ETAG013).
